Bitter start of the season

There is no other opponent which would be harder to start the season with than the one Bohemians got. The first away match was played on the ground of current champions – Viktoria Plzeň. Bohemians defense was rebuilt and Jakub Štochl had his first start for the Kangaroos. Havránek took a place of the keeper.And they had enough work since beginning. It was just a fifth minute when Kovařík went one on one with keeper but couldn’t score; Havránek showed a great save. Two minutes later it was Petržela who had a 20 meters long shot which hit a crossbar, deflected to Kovařík who hit the target but he was offside, goal disallowed.
Plzeň took a lead just minutes later. Petržela wanted to cross a ball in 19th minute but Jakub Štochl deflected the ball behind the keeper’s back. Havránek did not haave a chance and Plzeň took the lead.
The game slowed down after the first goal and Bohemians took the possession. Matěj Štochl’s backfoot was not strong enough and Kozáčik did not have much to do. Jindřišek’s shot from 20 metres went wide just a minute later.
Plzeň ensured they will win the first half and six minutes before the half break they scored another goal. It was Rada who tried to save his loss of ball with a tackle; he was awarded a yellow card and Plzeň with a very dangerous free kick. Kovařík hit the cross bar but Čišovský did not have a bigger problem to score from a deflection.
The second half started with a huge chance by Bohemians. Budínský appeared in front of the keeper alone after a pass from Moravec, he took a shot but one of the defenders saved it on the goal line. The Plzeň’s keeper caught also the header by Krch and the festival of goals directed by Plzeň started.
In 54th minute, Havránek underestimated the length of the corner kick, Procházka sent the ball in front of the goal where Kolář finished it. 3:0.
Jakub Štochl slipped in 67th minute, lost the ball and Wagner lobbed the keeper and changed the score to 4:0. Petržela and Šmíd met in the penalty box 6 minutes later and referee pointed at the penalty spot. Tecl scored and changed the score to the final 5:0.
Matěj Štochl and Moustapha Ndiaye tried to lower the score difference at the end of the match but Kozáčik didn’t do a bigger mistake today.
