The first half was as expected. Both sides had a lot from the game with a bit of dominance from kangaroos. First chance came in third minute after a corner kick but it didn’t end up with a shot on target.
A fast play continued but without chances. The best players on the field proved to be wingers from the home team who were threatening from cross balls but when the ball appeared in the middle of the pitch, the well defending defense and a bad terrain stopped it.
The number of cross balls had resulted in many corner kicks and after one of them, the referee has been forced to point at the penalty spot, when Rolko kicked into Jarolim instead of ball. Jindřišek went to take the penalty kick but Kangaroos didn’t score it for the third time in a row.
And Hradec players had a chance to punish Bohemians immediately. A long ball came behind the defense of Kangaroos, Dvorak got the ball and when he was about to shoot Škerle stole the ball and saved the situation. Hradec was on top of Bohemians after the unsuccessful penalty and more chances came such as Trubač’s header at 38th minute.
The second half started with an active approach from a home team. They controlled the game, they had dangerous chances and their pressure culminated during 60th minute. An inaccurate pass from Šírl ended up on feet of Holeš, he went up, looked for his team mates and found Dvořák. Dvořák sent a pass to Vaněček who took a shot from penalty spot towards the left post.
The warning, however, was turned into goal after second try. Štípek got enough time from Šírl to cross the ball. Vaněček was left alone on the front post and deflected the ball into the net. 1:0 for the home team.
The goal itself gave the home team even more confidence. Kangaroos couldn’t keep up the pace of the game and most chances by Kangaroos had no effect.
The home team could have enlarge their winning difference but Bohemians could still think about an equalizer thanks to a great safe by Zlamal. But that would have required a pressure from their side which did not come. Hradec celebrates the leaving of relegation positions in which nobody believed few matches ago.
