Kangaroos secure vital away point at Pribram
Příbram - Bohemians 0:0
The mid-table crunch match between the the Kangaroos and Pribram was one of vital importance for both sides. A win for the kangaroos would take them clear of the relegation zone and into the safety of the mid-table, whilst a loss would plunge them deeper into the relegation mire after what has been an extremely promising start to the second half of the season. The Kangaroos were without several first choice midfielders after an unexpected bout of food poisoning hit the squad just in the days leading up to the game. This left coach Pivarnik with no choice but to field an unexperienced midfield.
Pribram is a notoriously difficult place to play away at but nevertheless some 500 Bohemians fans made the short trip south and were in excellent spirits as ever. Pribram had the better of the opening exchanges and they had a couple of decent chances from a corner but they could not find the target with Zlamal looking as assured as ever between the sticks. Then the Kangaroos seemed to find their feet and looked a real danger down the flanks with the pace of Mosquera posing some real problems for the Pribram defence. Schick, who up until now has shown real promise in front of goal, spurned a great chance before stand-in Švec blazed over from within the box, spurning what was surely the best chance of the first half, if not the match.
Coach Pivarnik must have had some stern words for the team at half time as the Kangaroos came out looking rejuvenated in the second half. The Kangaroos were on the hunt for a goal to break the deadlock and they had several good chances with Schick once again blazing wide from close range just 8 minutes before time.
On the balance of play the Kangaroos probably deserved to win but they were seemingly just unable to find that killer punch in the face of what was quite honestly a toothless display from the home side with some perhaps questionable decisions from the officials putting somewhat of a dampener on proceedings.
The Kangaroos will be without Mosquera who is suspended for the vital home clash against Teplice next week after having received his 4th yellow card of the season. It is to be hoped that coach Pivarnik will have a full strength squad at his disposal for this vital game, should those affected recover from their food poisoning. Overall, it has been an extremely promising start to the second half of the season and the Kangaroos will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run when they face Teplice at the Ďolíček before the difficult away match against the league leaders Pilsen.
