Virtuální Ďolíček

The team kicked off the new season in the top flight of Czech football with a goalless draw at home to Brno.

Over seven thousand fans packed into Ďolíček to watch what perhaps should have been a victory for Bohemka.  The game was tight, but after the first 15 minutes it was the home team who did most of the pressing and looked most likely to score.  This pattern remained throughout most of the game, but Bohemka were unable to break the deadlock.  However, despite failing to pick up all three points, the coach and team can have every right to feel pleased with a hard-earned point against a well-organised Brno side.

Attention now turns to Fridays derby game against Sparta.  The trip to Letna is certainly one of the biggest , and most difficult games of the season for any team in the Czech league.  But the rivalry between the two clubs makes this game extra special for Bohemka fans.  Sparta will certainly start as favourites, and their confidence will be high after they got a fantastic result in the Champions League qualifying round, beating Greek side Panathinaikos 3:1.  However, they will also been keenly aware that anything can happen in a local derby, and Bohemka will no doubt be doing all they can to cause an upset in the game. 

Around 2000 Bohemka fans are expected to make the short trip from Vršovice to Letna, so there is sure to be a fantastic atmosphere.  Tickets are still available at the Fan Shop in Ďolíček.  The game kicks off on Friday at 19:00
