Bohemians 1905 0 - 1 FC Viktoria Plzeň
Sunday brought little joy into the Ďolíček and the nearly 7000 fans that turned up again didn't have the chance to celebrate a goal.
Pavel Hoftych has apologised to Fans for Bohemka's 2nd home defeat this season, the 1st having been 2 weeks ago agains Jablonec. Hoftych has said that he's hoping for a big improvement from the players "here he plays for Bohemka and for the [fans] who come here. It is not enough just to play and go home. We have to give everyone more, we got it from them, and it is the job of our coach".The goal came just after 35 minutes after David Střihavka managed to put away David Limbersky's cross, despite Bohemka easily looking the stronger of the two sides and having most of the possesion. Plzen had another chance a few moments later from a Střihavka free kick outside the box with bounced off the top bar. This was the same Bohemka lineup that managed to draw away at Olomouc the previous weekend, although with the addition of Tomas Hrdlička who we now have on loan for 6 months from Mlada Boleslav. Hrdlička played much as expected and continually helped Bohemka keep the pressure on Plzen right until the final whistle but we were too focused on finding the perfect position for shots rather than taking the chances that could have seen a more favourable result. We had a fair few shots at goal but the accuracy left a little bit to be desired. Pávka, Hrdlička a Jindřiška all looked dangerous for Plzen at times.
The 2nd half we were a little static for the first 10 minutes but then the pressure was again on the visitors and it didn't let up till the end. Hrdlička made a few shots from outside the box but had usually had the ball crossed to him and under pressure made off target attempts. It has to be said that the teams stamina at the moment is tip top and no one looked tired at any stage.
If my opinion counts then I thought that we were on fire and if our strikers take a few more risks with their shots then we should be on for scoring many more goals in coming matches.
